| TRACEABILITY AND THE LAW |

| There are strict traceability regulations pertaining to specific industries: the aerospace, pharmaceutical, and food industries.
Traceability will soon be established throughout the public sector. Traceability guidelines are established on different levels : - On a national level : depending on the structures of the different member states. - On a European level : The European commission has published guidelines, leaving it up to the professionals to work out the codes of good practicalities. - On an international level : The ISO 9000 standards show that traceability is a tool devoted to fulfilling a goal. Traceability is always defined in terms of its goals. It is therefore difficult for anyone to write texts or create standards according to different sectors. This is probably why there is no one who works on projects that deal with specific industries. |
